From the beginning of time man has always sought to cloth themselves with the finest materials available, firstly using skins and fleeces, and later developed the ability to produce fabrics from natural fibres.
- Q:
- How do I use the buy on-line?
- A:
To buy fabrics you should browse the products by using the selection system on the left of the page, this drop down list will allow you to select your product style by using any or all the criteria to target your desired fabric.
When you have made a selection the fabric can be viewed in three ways "View 1, View 2 and View 3" each view being a magnification showing in greater detail the fabic and design detail.
When your final selection (s) have been made please enter the amount of fabric required on the right side of the page and the cost of the fabric will be shown.
By then selecting the "add to basket" function the payment system will be shown and you should fill in your invoice and delivery details.
Please note : you will be asked to register during this process and the details password etc will be used for any additional purchases you may make in the future.
- Q:
- How can I be sure that my credit card details are safe and secure ?
- A:
- John Foster Direct has a secure credit card billing system in using the National Westminster Banking Service.
No credit card details are held by John Foster Direct.
- Q:
- How can I get a sample of the fabric I am considering buying ?
- A:
- A swatch of the required fabric can be sent to you (maximun of 3 per request) by using the "Swatch Request" facility within the selection page.
- Q:
- How long does it take to have my fabric despatched ?
- A:
- We aim to despatch all purchased fabrics within 24 working hours - the only possible exception would be if the particular item was "out of stock" which is a very rarely experienced but occasionaly will happen due to high demand.
- Q:
- Do you ship Internationally?
- A:
- John Foster Direct will despatch your fabric purchase to any worldwide destination you choose, possible exceptions would be Black Listed countries or due to hostilities.

- Q:
- Can I have my fabric sent somewhere different to my billing address ?
- A:
- You can have your fabric delivered to any address you specify, for example we will despatch direct to your favourite tailor, simply fill in the required shipping address during the fabric purchase process.
- Q:
- How much fabric do I need to buy ?
- A:
The amount of fabric needed for a garment depends on your size, type of garment and number of items within a garment (2 piece or 3 piece suit etc.).
Unless you have experience in purchasing fabrics you should consult your tailor who will be able to measure you and advise you accordingly.
- Q:
- How will I know that my on-line order has been received ?
- A:
- When an on-line order has been successfully made a confirmation will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.
